All our packages include a minimum of 6 hours of coverage. We usually take a 30 min break during dinner, so, for example, if you schedule us to start at 11:00am, our time will be finished at 5:30pm. (By the way, yes, we require that you feed us, but that will be a whole other post!) First of all, let me address the 6 hours thing. It has never been that big of an issue, but the reason we don't start off with 8-hour or "all day" pricing is because we feel that 6 hours is just right for most well-scheduled, well-organized, on-time weddings. If a client knows they need/want more time, they can do so. But we've found that we can usually get the majority of the essential images from the wedding day with the 6-hour minimum coverage. Of course, as mentioned, some couples need/want more coverage, which is absolutely no problem, just let us know and we'll add the hours at our current hourly rate. If on the actual wedding day you need more hours than what you have purchased, just let us know and we'll stick around until you tell us.
Ok, now, I can talk about our first step on the wedding day. If the logistics allow for it, I can usually leave Dina at the bride's location while I go and photograph the groom and groomsmen. We recommend this happens at least about 2 hours before the ceremony. That allows us enough time to shoot details, getting-ready shots, sequences, portraits and plenty more pretty pictures.
What we do ask for the groom to do is just wait for me to shave, comb his hair, put his suit/tux on. It doesn't matter where the groom is getting ready, it can be his home, hotel room, anywhere basically. It's our job to make some interesting images that will be essential in an album. If there isn't great light where the groom is getting ready, we'll suggest for him to move, at least just for a few portraits, to where there actually is some good light. This usually doesn't take too long, so the groom/groomsmen photos usually are completed much faster than the bride's. In that case, what I'll do is meet-up with Dina at the bride's location and wrap it up there.
Below, I'm posting some sequences of Jorge getting ready. Maybe as a "single frame", none of these images might qualify to have enlarged and framed for your wall, but as a "sequence" they work beautifully in an album spread, they're just great memories! Sometimes, we're just so nervous the day of our wedding, that we can't even remember tying our bow-tie, or putting our tux/shoes on. Having some frames to remember all this is a definite must! You can sense Jorge's excitement as he's almost ready for the start of the ceremony......
I'll write up a full post with more detail, photos and Robyn's contact info soon....

Two weekends ago, we had the pleasure of shooting Carlos & Darlene's wedding in about 110° heat with plenty of humidity! It didnt matter, we still had a great time and what made things even easier was the bride and groom's great attitude. Darlene is about the nicest, happiest, positive person we've ever met and Carlos totally compliments her. They were both so accomidating and concerned about us dealing with the heat. Thank you both :)
For any photographers out there, you might notice with this post that our "processing" might look a little different. That's because I used some of Jesh de Rox's Colorshift Actions, which I just bought recently. I'll post a review about them soon.....

I like this image for so many reasons. First, the composition is so strong. The giant tree almost looks like another member of the bridal party. The expressions on every body are great, just look at the flower girls. One is hiding her face with her flowers because it was super hot and she was tired, the other is looking at Carlos and Darlene kiss and she's so amused by it. The bridesmaid way on the left is looking somewhere else, most likely confused as to what I was doing (I was practically laying down on the dirty curb). The bridal party on the right side of the bride and groom seem to be thinking "when are we done with this weird photographer's ideas?". And last but not least, the bride and groom are not caring as to what is going on, they are busy kissing and being in love. And that's what it's all about, right?
Besides all the above mentioned items, I really really like when we are able to capture a strong, amazing image in the middle of nowhere.
Love the picture! I cant wait to see the rest! Hey our last name is Rojo!! lol!!!!
(08.07.09)girl... I hate pictures.. LOL!!
(08.07.09)LOL! i was not confused! LOL! I was more like when am I getting out of this dress its hurting me.. LOL! and will this heat ever die down.. and alittle like what the heck are you doing on the floor we will look fatter if you take the picture from the bottom up.. LOL! that was all.
